Christmas/Holiday Traditions & Tips Discussion

12 noon to 12:30 pm.  by Phone

Join us for a discussion on holiday traditions. Each person’s Christmas or Holiday traditions are unique and special and it is nice to learn about how each person celebrates the holiday season. If you have any tips on baking or cooking or decorating, please share it with the group.  Please register in advance. Register by December 13th for one of those days. Emergency Kit Preparedness Tips

Tuesday, December 14th

1:00 – 1:30 pm

Join us for a discussion on what to have on hand in case of an emergency. This can be related to weather, road conditions, illness, etc. It is always good to ensure that you have what you need in your house, apartment or condo.

Strength and Stretch Exercise Class

Wednesdays: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Start Date: will begin in  January, TBA

You may register by Emailing the Centre or by clearly leaving your Name and Phone Number on the Centre voicemail. Your name will be added to the attendance list and confirmation to follow. (Email:  [email protected])

This class focuses on Heart Health.  It consists of:

  • low impact cardio
  • strengthening exercises to increase your heart rate
  • hand-held weights and soft balls
  • some dancing style exercises
  • mostly standing exercises
  • a good workout!

 

$25.00 for 4 classes. Membership required. Pre-registration is required.  You must register in advance for this class so that your name is on the participant list before the start of classes as the class size is limited to maintain physical distancing. Payment can be mailed to the Centre or provided before the first class.

Masks must be worn indoors. You may remove your mask to participate in the exercises. Once done, please put your mask back on.  Physical distancing in effect. Please bring your own water. Please bring your proof of vaccination card.

Fit and Fun Fitness

Wednesdays, 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Start: will begin again in late January, TBD

You may register by Emailing the Centre or by clearly leaving your Name and Phone Number on the voicemail of the Centre. Your name will be added to the waiting list and confirmation to follow.

Low Impact Aerobics; Improve Joint Mobility and your Balance while moving to fun music!  This class also incorporates resistance bands and balls for strengthening of muscles and helping to increase mobility in arms, lets and trunk.  A good workout for everyone and all levels!

The class is mostly done sitting in a chair but you can stand to do some of the strengthening and mobility exercises if you wish.

Fee: $25 for 4 classes/weekly.  ongoing. Monthly blocks of classes. Membership required.

Your name must be on the class list prior to the start date as the size of the class is limited to maintain physical distancing.  You are required to wear a mask upon entry to the Centre. You may remove your mask when participating in the exercise class.  Please bring proof of vaccination card.

If you are a member and would like to have someone check in on you or say hello or to you would like health information updates, please consider adding yourself to the Telephone Support call list. Calls are made to members weekly or monthly as a way to provide reassurance and support. If this would help you, please leave your name and number on the voicemail at the Centre and your call will be returned to setup a date and time for your calls.  No fees.
