How to Protect Yourself

TORONTO PUBLIC HEALTH RECOMMENDS:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill
  • Stay home when you are ill
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands
  • If you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surface

You must self-isolate if you have travelled outside of Canada, for 14 days.

 

Would you like to learn Italian?

Buon Giorno! Learn the Italian language with an instructor from Italy! The date and time of the class will be determined once we have a class list. Start date in late March.

Please call or register in person in the front office.  Membership required.

$2.00 to attend weekly classes.

Lunch in our Garden Cafe

The Centre operates a lunchroom called “The Garden Cafe” for members, volunteers and staff. Light lunches are served Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. We serve homemade sandwiches, made fresh, for $2.00/2.50; or soup and a roll for $3.00; tea or coffee is 50 cents. You can also purchase a delicious muffin or cookies for 50 cents. Members can order a lunch until 12:15 pm. Please join for a bite to eat and a chance to meet new people! All monies go back to buying the supplies for the Cafe.

Community Lunch Bunch

Friday, March 27th

12:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Here is an opportunity to meet your fellow members and neighbours from the surrounding community for a hot lunch and good conversation. After lunch, we have a health & wellness, educational presentation.  Tickets are $6.00 and must be purchased before March 24th.

Lunch:  Chicken Penne with shiitake & button mushrooms, veggies in white wine & olive oil sauce, with Coleslaw.

Presentation: Advanced Care Planning with the Dorothy Ley Hospice.
