Registration & Membership

Membership fees for 2024 remain at $30 for the year. Your membership fees can be paid prior to any activity that you have registered for or are attending, except for socials. We accept cash or cheque. To attend a Social, you must already be a member of the Centre.

Registration & Membership/Fee Payment Drop-in on Fridays between 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm.

Please DO NOT attend the Centre or any activity if you feel unwell or have symptoms of an illness; or if you live with someone who is ill or has symptoms of being ill. We want to keep everyone healthy and well in this new year to enjoy the activities together. 

Qi Gong for Members

MONDAYS, February 5th to April 1st. from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. (no class Feb. 19th). 8 weeks in total.

Qi Gong (said “chee gong:), is an ancient Chinese meditation and movement type of exercise. It involves movement,  breathing techniques and meditation.

“Qi” mean life force or vital energy and “Gong” is how we cultivate or master that vital energy. So Qi Gong means working with energy to improve health & balance of the mind and body. The 5 elements and acupressure points will also be discussed.  In this class, you can be standing or seated. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring your own water.

Registration is by email or in person. Email: [email protected]. You must be a member of the Centre to take this class. If you are not a member, you can fill out the membership form and pay the membership fees at the first class. Please attend about 15-20 minutes before the start of the first class to do this.

Cost: $35 for 8 weeks. (cash or cheque accepted). Register by January 26th.

Balance, Strength & Stretch Class

Wednesdays: 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm. Jan 24th – Feb. 28th. Next Class begins on March 6th for 6 weeks.

Cost: $40/ 6 weeks. (paid in cash or cheque only). Classes run every 6 weeks through the year.

This class focuses on standing & sitting exercises to:

  • improve ankle & hip strength to help with balance
  • improve core strength
  • improve posture
  • build upper & lower body strength with hand weights and bands
  • improve cardiovascular health with low impact aerobic exercises
  • an active class, not for individuals who need to remain seated for a fitness class
  • This is an excellent workout! and a popular class with our members!

Payment for this class will be taken before the first class or in advance. You may pay for this class when you are attending another activity that you have registered for. Please wear comfortable clothing, good footwear and bring your own water.  You must be a Member to attend.

Badminton

Tuesdays, 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Register by the Friday before to play. 

For Members Only. (with regulation nets; double and single play). Cost to play: $2.00

Table Tennis: Fridays

New day and time: Fridays, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. for January and February. New day and time will start in the spring.

$2.00 per session. Membership required. 

Join an avid group of players for fun, friendly competition and exercise!  Physical distancing when seated for a rest break.  Bring your own water.
