Volunteering with the Islington Seniors’ Centre is something people do everyday! We welcome volunteers to contribute their talents, skills, time, experience and energy to maintain and enhance what we offer at the Centre. Did you know that seniors volunteer more than any other group in Canada? We value the contribution that our volunteers provide on a daily basis. Would you like to be involved, but are not sure how to go about it? Getting started is as easy as filling out the form below.  Or stop into the Centre and leave us your name and number and activity.  The Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Volunteering takes place for a few hours on a specific day.

We have current opportunities in:

*Setup/Clean Up Volunteers:  We are always looking for people to help us setup for our special events and help to clean up at our special theme luncheons.  If you would like to help serve the meal and help with cleanup afterwards, please leave your name and number at the front desk.

*Craft Instructor: To teach and assist members to do a seasonal or holiday craft during the year. We provide the supplies, you provide the idea!

*Community Lunch Volunteer: To help serve the meal to the seniors who attend our community lunch. Usually the last Friday of the month from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Sometimes, the lunch may be held on a Thursday too, same time. Help to clean up the kitchen afterwards and load the dishwasher.

*Foot Clinic Receptionist:  Check in the members for their foot clinic appointment and book the next appointment. The foot clinic is held from 9:15 am to 11:00 am, every second or third Monday of the month.

If you have any other ideas for volunteering, please let us know!

Once we receive your information, we will contact you with more information.
