Seated Yoga

Tuesdays,  1:15 pm – 2:15 pm

New Gentle Hatha Yoga instructor with exercises that focus on functional mobility, coordination and enhancing lymphatic flow. Breathing and meditation exercises are part of this class as well.  Yoga is one of the gentlest forms of exercise, either sitting in a chair, or standing, using the chair for support. There will be a meditation exercise to start and end the class.

Wear loose comfortable clothing.

$20.00 for 4 classes. Membership required. Pre-registration and payment required.  Please register in advance for this program so that your name is on the participant list. The class size is limited to maintain physical distancing. Payment can be mailed to the Centre or provided before the first class.

*There is an option to have this class twice a week if members are interested. To be determined after the first class. (Fees would then change for having the class Tuesdays & Thursdays).

*There is an option to have this class over Zoom.  Please make your preference known when you register.

 

Book Club

Join a group of avid readers to discuss the Book of the Month. Discussion is moderated by a librarian from the Toronto Public Library.  

Toronto Public Library has Book Clubs on hold.

Art Group

Fridays, 10:00 am – 12 noon,  on hold

Bring your own supplies for whichever medium that you would like to work in: oil, acrylics, watercolour, pen or pencil for painting, drawing or sketching.  This is a great space to generate new ideas for your artwork or ask for some suggestions or assistance.
The Art Critique of all of the interesting and unique artwork created by the members is currently on hold to respect physical distancing because of the size of the group.  Membership required. $2.00 to attend.

 

Lunch in our Garden Cafe

Wednesdays, 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

The Centre operates a lunchroom called “The Garden Cafe” for members, volunteers and staff. The lunch is served from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. We serve homemade sandwiches, made fresh, for $2.00/2.50; or soup and a roll for $3.00; tea or coffee is 50 cents. You can also purchase a delicious muffin or cookies for 50 cents. Members can order a lunch until 12:15 pm. Please join for a bite to eat and a chance to meet new people! All monies go back to buying the supplies for the Cafe.

Lunch, Learn & Share

THURSDAYS, 12 noon – 3:00 pm

Here is an opportunity to meet your fellow members and neighbours from the surrounding community for a hot lunch and good conversation. After lunch, we have a health & wellness educational presentation or participate in a creative activity.

Table Tennis

Singles play only. No drop-in. Limited number of players per session. Pre-registration required for all time slots. Your time will be confirmed with you by email or phone, depending on how you have registered. Email preferred.

Please email your full name and phone number with the time slot that you would prefer and a second choice for a time slot in case the first is already filled. Email: [email protected] or leave a clear message on the voicemail with your name, phone number and preferred time slot. You must bring your membership card with you and new sign- in before the program begins.

Masks are required while at the Centre. You may remove your mask to participate in an active activity. Then you must put your mask back on while you rest or wait your next turn at play.

Computer Level II

“The Internet & E-mail” Computer Level II.

Introduction to the internet includes using Internet Explorer, site names, IP addresses, choosing an internet provider and search engines.   Learn E-mail basics of sending and receiving mail, using address books and sending attachments. Instructor led.
Pre-requisite: Level 1 must be completed before taking this course

Program Fee:   $50.00 / 6 weeks  (Program fee includes all course material).

Pre-Registration and payment required at time of registration.  Space is limited as this is a very popular and informative course.  Membership is required to participate in this program.

Knitting/Crocheting

Wednesdays, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon

Do you Knit or Crochet and would love the time and space to devote to your craft? This talented group creates wonderful knitted and crocheted items, which are proudly displayed for sale at our Centre. Every level of expertise is welcome and you can also ask how to make something. Join in! Bring your own project or work on an item as a fundraiser for the Centre.  Membership is required to participate in this program. We accept donations of yarn or wool for the ladies who love to knit!  And we have books for sale as well.
$1.00 to attend.

Physical distancing and wearing a mask are mandatory at this program.

Beginner Euchre

Wednesdays, 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm:  (Currently On Hold due to lack of physical distancing)

Play Euchre on Wednesday afternoons with other players who would like to improve their game. A great group of people to learn with!

$2.00 per day.  Membership is required.
